Energy sources:
1) Nuclear Energy (fission and fusion, but primarily fusion) makes up 78% of the energy supply; most plants are in the few surviving rural areas. Uranium is found throughout Augarundus. Fusion is primarily used for creating electricity, and fission is the source of Augarundus' large supply of WMDs (WMD's make up a dangerously high portion of Augarundus' total weapons count, and the only type of WMD more commonly available than nuclear weaponry is biological and chemical weaponry).
2) Automobiles aren't used (all automobiles are exported to other nations, and government paychecks, much like "ration cards", do not allow for personal luxuries like automobiles), so Maglev trains that use magnetic force to propel them combined with a small amount of coal make up 7% of the total energy supply. The coal is rarely imported, and comes from cities like Mutralv (only when imported, this is rare), Kragvolnos, and sometimes Arpentrau.
3) Refined Oil found in areas of Augarundus- mostly rural- makes up 0% of the civilian Augarian energy supply, as it is almost entirely exported. However, it does supply the Augarian military, and, for that reason, must be given a 10% energy supply rating.
4) Geothermal energy makes up the last 5% of energy, and it is only used in the northern regions of Augarundus. It is readily available throughout the usually freezing nation, and the reason behind its lack of use is unknown.

Due to recent rioting in the capitol city, Augaria, (apparently, a large portion of the proletariat population is no longer in favor with the government) Augarundus has declared Marshal Law (this has always been in place, just unofficially). Armed guards opened fire on the rioters, killing a mass in excess of three hundred. More were detained and are currently behind held in reeducation (torture) centers.
In a counter-demonstration, Augarian troops numbering over a hundred thousand paraded past Scarlet Plateau, the capitol square. Throughout all Augarian cities, and Augarutzen, posters like:
were stuck to public areas, and some "private" zones (private property and enterprise is abolished in Augarundus) were invaded for the purpose of propaganda-displays.
One subtle warning, not intended to be released to the general public, was given by the Chancellor to the rioters:
"Anyone who attempts to defy the divine will of this state shall be purged for heresy! For the crimes of you few swine, the entire population must suffer at the hands of our inquisition. You have shamed your Chancellor, your country, and your fellow proletariat."
This "purging" was the execution of several hundred thousand men, women, and children spread over a long period of time. Three previous purges have been issued:
1886- State Purge: a purge of the government that began the Augarian Revolution. It destroyed the Holy Augarian Monarch and replaced it with a single-party dictator. In this purge, a total of 370,000 were killed as a result of the exercising of state control.
1913- Purge of Faith: the single largest purge of the Augarian Communist Reich. Roman Catholicism was, until that time, the largest religion, making up 96% of the total population. All those who still practiced a religion of any sort after multiple warnings were brutally murdered via publicly viewable bodily dismemberment and firing squad. In this purge, 14,000,000 Augarians were executed for mixed religious practices.
1998- Purge of Greed: a purge involving mostly businessmen who had established interests in capitalism and in highly capable proletariat. It was a rather small purge, but still managed to kill nearly 60,000 people.
The new, 2035, purge is henceforth known as the Purging of Heresy. It was implied it would be rather unique, and that heretics would be forced onto the frontlines with sick and weak to die. _________________ Eine Welt, ein Reich.
